UWorld Medical - Exam Prep App Reviews

I want to downgrade to older version please T______T, the new one is very annoying to use on a tab, especially when highlighting or moving around as it takes me to previous or next question!!! Its driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!

Please repair, this is annoying

I love this app because it allows me to practice wherever I am without having to bring a laptop with me. The only annoying feature is the notification popping up every single time you leave the app or switch to another app. The notification prompts you to either go on with the current test/review or to discard it. It is really annoying, especially when you are using the app on your iPhone and a message or call comes up. After all, if you want to discard the session, there is an accessible button. Removing or at least giving the choice to opt out of the notification would render the experience much smoother. Thanks!

-Updated review: I would also like to see the topic of the question blocks in previous test for the mobile version. How am I supposed to know which quiz was which topic when I want to review? -------------------I preferred how the older version would have the timer start anew every time you restarted a suspended exam so that I knew how much time elapsed during that session as opposed to the total time it takes me to finish all the questions in that question block. :( -I also do not like how on my iPad the buttons to navigate the questions are on the left-hand side as opposed to how it was originally being at the top Please fix :(

Make it easier to highlight by just dragging finger over the words. It takes too long to try to highlight as it is now.

Im happy to see it looks more like FRED. You guys did a great job with that. The app also works as dependably as the desktop version itself, which is great, but I echo what some people were saying below. 1. Its a bit difficult to navigate, so putting a set of next/back keys closer to the bottom edge would be nice. - As a subpoint to that, I personally use the left and right arrow keys a lot to navigate questions during review on the desktop version. It would be nice to have that functionality here with bluetooth keyboards. 2. Highlighting is pretty hard too - takes a couple clicks to where I usually just dont bother after a while. A simple drag motion to highlight would be superb.

Everything looks the same except for a new Aa font button in the corner. Bugs found: lab values button not working & notes field has a black background so you cant read anything you type. Feedback field has the same glitch (black background) & doesnt send.

Fix images on iPad version!! Just show up as little squares

Everything about this new user interface is infuriating. Toolbars take up space, buttons in new places, clunkier loading, ugly color scheme, and a huge departure from mimicking the NBME. The lab button rarely works no matter how repeatedly you mash the icon. This mobile app is poorly designed. Listen to your customers and change it back to the original!

I enjoy being able to study with this qbank wherever I want, but please fix the lab values button! Its worked exactly two times for me, despite trying dozens of times.

What happened to this app? The previous design was way better. Now, it has these odd glitches when loading the question numbers and the overall resolution appears worse.

Overall from loading the test and getting the data are much fasting. My experience is very smooth compare to the old version. Good job guys!

Please provide an offline mode so that users can download a subset of questions to do in situations without Internet access. Other subscription-based board review apps (eg Firecracker) have an offline mode that works very well in these situations.

Since there are only three real competitors in the qbank world its not very hard to seize the title of first place. Ever since doing so, uworld increasingly models their business on a game of jenga rather than one of growth or innovation. Their content provides an adequate knowledge-base but fails to simulate actual test questions. The uworld style of question writing is somewhat outdated and as scores for usmles increase, uworld has stayed pretty much the same. Making edits to typos or fixing grammar in a question here or there will get you todays date on every question though- incorrectly leading you to believe that the questions and their content are updated daily. They are not. Much of it is entirely the same as it was years ago. Fortunately for us- since scoring high is a priority of the past (but maintaining the image of caring is the facade of the future) we are blessed with a new app, which works only in landscape mode, and has even more security flaws than the first. I copied and pasted this review but I added punctuation so will go ahead and put todays date on it. What do you know, Uworld did actually teach me something.

My question is why do you have to reformat things? At least keep the old version on the App Store too, as with this cosmetically enhanced version I have been fraught with frustration as the two part questions would not move on to the second part! It would instead freeze and make it nigh on impossible to move on in life.

Even large font is small on iPhone 6 plus. Hard to click on buttons - and if you dont click just right, it marks the wrong one and you cant change it.

The old app was too boring to use. Just love the new improvised look!

This game is nuts! Its a doctor simulation, but the trivia questions are sooo hard and there isnt any introduction or help to get you used to the format - its total immersion! The subscription prices are INSANE, but thankfully there are no ads. You also get to see the high scores and how you rank against other players. I have suspicions some of them are actual doctors, though, or at least are letting Dr. Google and Dr. Wiki do some of the work...Im bringing this to my next appointment to see how well my dermatologist is at the "psychiatry" level!

This app is more reliable than previous, however, please simulate the real usmle exam feel when solving questions as in previous app. since there is a toolbar at the left hand side that too vertical, it cut away essential space on already small ipad screen (compared to laptops) thanks
