No problems with the first round of questions. Now, I am unable to specify the number of questions for a new test, and instead the app crashes. Completely useless. iPad3/iOS7.1
This app is very well designed. Sure its a bit unlike the computer version which resembles more the software used on the real exam. But if youre looking to simulate a real exam experience, dont use a mobile device!! With that said, this app works very smoothly and provides seamless transition when finishing a test started on another device. The text is very clear and the images appear well. I dont miss my computer when using this app while Im on the go. Keep up the excellent work!
The layout is cleaner than the previous version I had. It took a little time to adjust to the new layout but I like it. You can select a specific question to review on the left-side toolbar instead of having to go back to the question list. While you are reviewing each question, the percentage of people who missed it is also shown unobtrusively on the page - its a nice change. Creating a problem set is also a little faster because its all on one page - you dont have to flip through multiple pages in the app to select the subjects/systems/# of questions.
The app is vastly improved over its previous versions, but I wish Uworld would notify users that a new app even existed. It has good interface, and very good content within.
This new app becomes non-communative once network signal is lost, something that is not an issue when using the old application. The old application allows you to complete/review a test offline. This is a necessary feature for any student using an underground subway system! It would be an added bonus if the application would load all pictures, tables, graphs when setting up the test to allow for even more offline functionality.
I havent gotten through more than 3 questions without the app crashing on me. It is very frustrating to waste so much time getting in and out of the app.
I cant change an answer in tutor mode anymore. I cant tell if thats intentional or a glitch but it really ruins the app for me.
Ive always really liked this app, but this new version seems to lack the option of pausing the time of a quiz without returning to the list of quizzes. A previous version Ive used allowed me to tap the time and it would pause the app without leaving the quiz.
Ill start out by saying that USMLE World is a fantastic resource, and my review is purely of the new app format. I am disappointed in the new look the app has taken on, not because it is inherently flawed (overall it is easy to use and visually appealing), but because it no longer has the same format that the real exam has. Part of test prep is not just the material tested, but also simulating the testing environment. The screen layout should resemble the actual testing screen as much as possible.
1- On ipad, the app looks far different from desktop view, which is not good at all. I think the best design for ipad and tablet app is the one resembling the actual desktop view at the time of exam, so one continue familiarizing with actual exam scene. The new app might look good, but Me and many friend really prefer previous app environment that had much more similarity with real test environment. Please give this feedback to the team. The new app is totally frustrating! I think this app is just optimized for iphone. 2- The highlighting on ipad has bugs. When reviewing answers, the first time you select a text to highlight, will fail. I.e., no highlight options appears. I need to reselect to be able to highlight. This happened with the last two updates, was fine before that. 3- finally, moving the blue ribbon from top to the left has ended in obscuring basic data idevices show, like clock, battery, bluetooth and so. Now I need to exit from app to check clock. I think this needs a total revision back. Better is sometimes the real enemy of good!
It need to fix some bugs and make easier highlighting
Please add split screen support for multitasking note taking and iPad Pro functionality. Doesnt matter that its not quite like the desktop client - you arent taking the test on a tablet anyways!
Why cant users purchase a subscription in the app?
Wired huge menu bar on left all the time unnecessarily and fonts are too faint. If you are still using old version, please do not update with this one. This is totally inconvenient. We are students and we know our needs. The main drawback is menu bar on left, instead of top or bottom of each question. It blocks the view when you zoom in to see larger view. Do not use this update!!!!!
Well, my review going to be for iPad, The question ID is not shown on the main screen of the question and if i want to look it up on the left from the qs list, i have to scroll down if its later in order, so its not even appears right away which Q im on now and highlighted! 2nd major thing is that the qs doesnt show the particular subject the Q is from, so every time i want to figure out where this qs from, i have to go out from the Q screen and re-log into the particular exam and view it in review session to see such particular info, which is really inconvenient! Thanks for your consideration.
Its a different format than normal but its great! It has a fresh look and functions great!
UW is a good study material, but its iPad application is a drawback. It is extremely horrible layout. Do not understand why they havent fixed it yet although multiple users have pointed out the issue. You cannot zoom in and out easily because menu bar on left is blocking all the time. Do not get this application.
Please enable Touch ID to open app on the fly!
Please include the question ID when reviewing the questions just as it was in the previous version of the app.
